Gent of other part reciting that by indented deed of mortgage bearing date 24 April  1784  made between Patrick KELLY of Dundalk, Gent of the one part and the said Thomas REED of the other part the said Patrick KELLY did grant bargain and sell to Thomas REED… all that part of the South Marsh  in his possession or his undertenants  bounded on the North by the Lower Avenue Barns to Haggardstown and on the East and South by the [Fosel] and Dike that were made to keep off the sea and also that Field No 3 to the West of said new Road bounded on the East by said new road on the North by part of the Marsh occupied by James ARMSTRONG and on the South by another  part of the Marsh occupied by John ELFEN? and on the West by part of the marshes held by John ELFEN containing together 120 perches Irish measure with the [Tosse] and Dikes which enclose the east side thereof and 30 yards in breadth extending along the East side of the bank and the Tosse and Dike which run along the  South side of the premises and the land at the Outside  thereof to the mearing of Haggardstown situated lying and being in the Corporation of Dundalk… for term of 999 years granted by the original lease to Patrick Kelly… Thomas REED for consideration of £539.10.1 did grant to Joseph COULTER premises in deed of mortgage. Monaghan for 5s ster John HENRY grants his part of Alexander HENRY of Richardstown, Co. Louth, eldest son of John HENRY & William HENRY, 3rd son of John HENRY, Thomastown & Littledickin, Co Louth [Littledickin may have been an older name for Thomastown – notes from Pete Schermahorn: The similarity between Dunbin and Dickin should have rung a bell. Looking at the map for this particular Thomastown, shows a Dunbin Big immediately west o Thomastown, and Dunbin Little attached to the west side of Dunbin Big. There's also a Littlemill townland abutting Thomastown to its south.] , then in possess of Anthony McDERMOT & Zacharia MAXWELL subject to charge of sd sum of £300 (see Alexander JACKSON) in trust, for use of John HENRY , forever.

Anthony McDERMOT & Zacharia MAXWELL were in possession of lands of Thomastown & Littledickin, Co Louth as granted by John HENRY to Alexander & William HENRY in trust.

 As to other children of John HENRY, Alexander JACKSON agrees to waive benefit in lieu of £300 to be pd on John HENRY's death, and grants Alexander and William HENRY for 5s ster lands of Clo_illan [possibly Clonacullion], Endso and B_elk [Bowelk], MON in trust for sev'l uses & for £90 jointure for Mary JACKSON or £60 for Mary JACKSON on death of Alexander JACKSON.WITNESSES: John HENRY the younger (presumably the second son of John HENRY sr.), Linen Merchant of Lisnagoan, Co. Whereby sd Noblett Johnson granted unto sd Thomas Kift a dwelling house built by sd Noblett Johnson and lately in possession of Ab: Thomas Strettle, Merchant, on south part of Morrissons Island, in parish of Holy Trinity, Cork City, bound on west by house of Catherine Beecher, on north by holdings of Mr. Charles Ferguson, on the east by holdings of Mr. Henry Sadlier and the River Lee on the south, from 25 March then past for 500 years at £80 p.a. rent.

Witnesses to the deed and memorial were Thomas Chatterton of Cork city, Publ. Notary and Daniel Connell of Cork city, Gent.

The memorial was sealed by Thomas Kift and sworn at Cork city before William Colburn 1 September 1788.
