My notes on memorials of deeds are the result of dozens of visits to Dublin’s Deeds Registry over the past decade. Towards the end of each day, I tend to be more prone to errors in transcription, or else I leave off significant details. I appreciate being informed of my errant ways. It is the best way for me to find out what needs fixing.

JACKSON - GUMBLETON Names Index 1786-1794 Ballygally or Woodbine Hill.

NOTE: Ballygally House is a protected structure in the townland of Ballygally, Parish of Lismore, Co. Waterford. Woodbine Hill House is a protected structure in the townland of Prospecthall. In the Tithe Applotment Records of 1825, George Bennet JACKSON and George Holmes JACKSON were landowners at Ballygally. I suspect that this deed refers to Lieut John JACKSON, husband of Mary TROUGHEAR, parents of George Holmes JACKSON.

NOTE: This is an extraordinary letter – never seen one like it Ending in reference to that on Friday last a storm blew down 3 houses in Toulouse killing three people. Presumably John JACKSON was one of those killed since the letter is a detailed description of his wishes relating to the land. Maybe order
