Duddington [aka Doddington], Northamptonshire, England  is the origin of a JACKSON family tree that rooted in Fanningstown, Co. Limerick. This is my first crack at it. Please let me know if you see any errors or if you are able to add new material. I will get to it ASAP.

7.  HUGH6 JACKSON (THOMAS5, FRANCIS4, THOMAS3, WILLIAM2, NICHOLAS1)27 was born 11 Oct 1745, and died 28 Apr 1829 in of Doddington.  He married JANE WELDON 1767, daughter of JAMES WELDON and MARY JACKSON.  She died 22 Apr 1816.

11.  THOMAS7 JACKSON (HUGH6, THOMAS5, FRANCIS4, THOMAS3, WILLIAM2, NICHOLAS1)42,43 was born 20 Mar 1768, and died 28 Jun 1800 in Stamford, Lincoln, England.  He married ELIZABETH HIPPISLEY44 17 Aug 1790 in Duddington, Northamptonshire, England, daughter of TOBIAS HIPPISLEY.  She was born 1773 in of Hamilton, Rutland.

13.  THOMAS7 JACKSON (THOMAS6, JEREMIAH5, FRANCIS4, THOMAS3, WILLIAM2, NICHOLAS1)57 was born 28 Oct 1782, and died 1857 in of Fanningstown, Co. Limerick, Ireland.  He married HELENA HALL, daughter of SOBER HALL.  She was born in of Darlington, and died Aug 1881.

              i.   HAMILTON LLEWELLIN8 JACKSON58, b. 1816, of Fanningstown, Co. Limerick, Ireland; m. HENRIETTA AMELIA DONADELLI59, 1844.

1.  A Genealogical and heraldic dictionary of the landed gentry of Great Britain & Ireland Vol III, 1850, London, 178, Nicholas Jackson built the Mansion House at Duddington, 9 CHARLES I, in 1633, and by his will dated 9 Nov 1641 left his estate there to his son.

2.  A Genealogical and heraldic dictionary of the landed gentry of Great Britain & Ireland Vol III, 1850, London, William Jackson, who succeeded his father in 1662, and by will, dated 12 November 1667, funded the school at  Duddington,  giving £50 to build a school room, “and £10 yearly forever, issuing out of my farm at Helpstone, towards the maintenance of the schoolmaster for the teaching of 12 children, if so many there are fit, born and dwelling within the parish of  Duddington,  which children, my will is, shall be able competently to read any chapter in the New Testament, so as to be approved of by any two or more of the neighbouring ministers, before they shall be accounted capable of being admitted into the school aforesaid. The schoolmaster to be placed there in by my son, Thomas, for his life, and after by him, by his heirs and successors. The school has always been of marked utility. The schoolroom has recently been rebuilt, and a dwelling house for the master added thereto, and at this time contains 73 children. To his son Thomas he devised all his lands in Easton, Helpstone, and Duddington. This    THOMAS JACKSON succeeded his father in 1667, ...

3.  A Genealogical and heraldic dictionary of the landed gentry of Great Britain & Ireland Vol III, 1850, London, THOMAS JACKSON succeeded his father in 1667, he married Frances, daughter of Christopher Thursby, Esq. of Castor, County Northampton, of the family which afterwards removed to Abington Abbey, in the same County, by whom (who died in 1683) he had issue,    CHRISTOPHER born in 1668 died 5 June 1730, married Joan, daughter of Edward Cheseldyne, Esq. of Burrough, County Leicester, and had issue. This branch is now extinct.  Thomas, born in 1669, died 25th of August 1679.  FRANCIS born in 1670.  Jeremiah.  John.  Mary.  To this Thomas who was a magistrate for County Northampton, the arms of the family were granted, in 1688. He by his will dated 3 February 1692, left all his freehold copy hold houses, and lands at  Duddington,  Castor, and Helpstone, to his second surviving son,    FRANCIS JACKSON, who succeeded his father in 1694. ...

4.  Armorial Families, Arms granted: JACKSON of Duddington (H. Coll., 10 Aug. 1689). Argent, a greyhound courant ermines, between three eagles heads erased sable. Mantling sable and argent. Crest — On a wreath of the colours, a demi-horse argent, guttee-de-sang, maned and hoofed sable. Livery — Light yellow and dark blue.     JACKSON (H. Coll., 10 Aug. 1689). Quarterly, 1 and 4, argent, a greyhound courant ermines, between three eagles' heads erased sable (for Jackson) ; 2 and 3, sable, three mullets pierced between two bendlets or (for Hippisley). Mantling sable and argent. Crest — On a wreath of the colours, a demi-horse argent, guttée-de- sang, maned and hoofed sable. Motto — " Chi si contenta gode."   .

6.  A Genealogical and heraldic dictionary of the landed gentry of Great Britain & Ireland Vol III, 1850, London, FRANCIS JACKSON, who succeeded his father in 1694. He married Frances Fairchild, by whom (who died 10 July 1740) he had issue.  I.        Thomas born in 1695 his heir.  II.        William born in 1698, died 8 March 1718.  III.         Francis, clergyman, Rector of Bulwick, County Northampton.  IV.   Jeremiah, to whom his father left his lands etc. in “Helpstone, Etton, and towns adjoining” subject to £10 a year for the school. This is estate has since been sold to Earl Fitzwilliam, who continues to pay the school and annuity. He settled at Fanningstown, near Limerick, Ireland, married and had issue,  a.          Thomas died in London 12 May, 1792, age 46 years, and buried at  Duddington,  married Barbara Gould, daughter of William Reid, Esq. of Bradford, Wiltshire, by whom who after his decease married Nathaniel Simpson, Esq. of the South Sea house he had issue,  i.      Jeremiah at midshipman Royal Navy drowned in the Straits of Gibraltar.   ii.  Thomas now of Fanningstone.  iii.    William in the Hon. East India Company service.  b.  Jeremiah, formerly fellow of St. John's College, Cambridge, master of Uppington school, successively vicar of Manton and of Ospringe, and Rector of Offord Darcy, (for an account of this eminent scholar and accomplished gentlemen see gentleman's Magazine 4 July 1828) married Frances Jackson and had by her an only daughter, Katherine, who married Daniel Ximenes. Two daughters who married the Irish families of Tuthill, or Villiers, and Langley.  c.  Mary born in 1702 married to James Weldon, merchant of London, brother of Spicer Weldon Esq., barrister at law  d.    Frances married Ambrose Rendell of Ampthill, Bedfordshire, and had issue,  e.       Jane married Treadwell of Uppingham and had issue.  f.        Elizabeth, born in 1706, died 12 July, 1781, died unmarried.    BAKER in his history of Northamptonshire, speaking of Duddington, says, “Francis Jackson has a good stone house there, and the church contains many memorials of the family.” There several of those still remaining but the more ancient ones in the chancel have been removed and thrown aside, to make room for others, a loss which together with the destruction (as it is said by fire) of the parish registers previous to 1733 has occasioned some difficulty in exactly determining the earlier dates. Francis Jackson, by will dated 11 December 1744, left all his lands and etc. at  Duddington,  Wakerley, and Wothorp, to his eldest son,    THOMAS JACKSON, ...

Of these were brought up,   Francis born in 1727 died 22 December 1751, s.p.  William born in 1728 died 27 February 1795, s.p.  Mary, married to Cole; and  Elizabeth married to Cunningham both d.s.p.  Susanna born in 1738 died 26 May, 1781 unmarried.  Mr. Jackson married secondly Frances, daughter of the Rev. Hugh Cartwright, incumbent of Ossington, son of William Cartwright, Esq. of Norwell, and brother of William Cartwright, Esq. of Markham Hall, Nottinghamshire, a lady of great excellent understanding, admirable humour and a great kindness of heart, who died ninth July, 1754, age 48 years, universally esteemed and regretted. By her he had issue,  Hugh born in 1745.  Frances married to her cousin Jeremiah Jackson.  Thomas Jackson left the house and estate at Duddington, to his son, by his second wife,    HUGH JACKSON, Esq., who succeeded his father in 1771. ...

By her he had issue,  Hugh born in 1745.  Frances married to her cousin Jeremiah Jackson.  .

He settled at Fanningstown, near Limerick, Ireland, married and had issue,  a.   Thomas died in London 12 May, 1792, age 46 years, and buried at  Duddington,  married Barbara Gould, daughter of William Reid, Esq. of Bradford, Wiltshire, by whom who after his decease married Nathaniel Simpson, Esq. of the South Sea house he had issue,  i.    Jeremiah at midshipman Royal Navy drowned in the Straits of Gibraltar.   ii. Thomas now of Fanningstone.  iii.      William in the Hon. East India Company service.  b.     Jeremiah, formerly fellow of St. John's College, Cambridge, master of Uppington school, successively vicar of Manton and of Ospringe, and Rector of Offord Darcy, (for an account of this eminent scholar and accomplished gentlemen see gentleman's Magazine 4 July 1828) married Frances Jackson and had by her an only daughter, Katherine, who married Daniel Ximenes. Two daughters who married the Irish families of Tuthill, or Villiers, and Langley.  c.       Mary born in 1702 married to James Weldon, merchant of London, brother of Spicer Weldon Esq., barrister at law  d.      Frances married Ambrose Rendell of Ampthill, Bedfordshire, and had issue,  e.   Jane married Treadwell of Uppingham and had issue.  f.     Elizabeth, born in 1706, died 12 July, 1781, died unmarried.  .

William Pochan, Rector of Morcott, and has issue.  b.           John of Hampstead, married Anna Dodsworth, daughter of Sir William Beechey, knight and has issue.   c.     Hugh of Hampstead, married Eliza, daughter of Thomas Graham Arnold, M.D., of Stamford, and has issue,   d.         Elizabeth died unmarried.  e. Susanna married Col. John Elliott Cairns of Coleraine, Ireland, and has issue.  .

Of Duddington, County Northampton, and of Wisbech, in the Isle of Ely, born 26 July, 1771; married first, in 1797, Ann, daughter of John Marshall, Esq. of Walderesea House, Elm, in the Isle of Ely, high Sheriff of the counties of Cambridge and Huntington in 1805, and by her (who died in 19 January 1838) had issue,  I.    Hugh John, died 1 December 1818, aged 16 years.  II.         WILLIAM GODDARD, of Wisbech, and of Mount Maskell, North Cray, Kent, married Harriet, daughter of Matthew Burchall, Esq., and sister of William John Burchall, LLB, the African traveler and naturalist and has issue,  William Goddard.  And Jane.  Mary.  Carolyn.  Harriet.  Anna.  Elizabeth.  III.           Joseph Marshall, Rector of Bow-Brickhill, Buckinghamshire, married Harriet, daughter of William Margetts, Esq. of Huntington, and has issue, Hugh John and other children.  IV.           Maryanne, died 11 March, 1804, age 3.    Mr. Jackson married secondly in 1839, Elizabeth, daughter of John Patrick Moore, Esq. of Aspley Guise, Bedfordshire. He succeeded his father Hugh Jackson, Esq. in his estate at Duddington in 1829.
