A family tree relating to James OLIVER (abt 1807-1892) of Urney, and Magheracreggan, Co. Tyrone. This family was generally associated with the Presbyterian Church, and are not to be confused with a nearby OLIVER family, also of the Parish of Urney, who were generally Church of Ireland. The ADAMS connections still have to be run to ground, as well as the possible connection to the MANN family.

NOTE: Initially I had this tree starting with William Oliver d. , of Cavankilgreen, Parish Clanteel, Co. Tyrone. This was incorrect. It is possible that he was the William OLIVER b 1776 who married Anne Jane MANN. He was the father of a Mary Anne OLIVER who married a William ADAMS. I have not entered all the ADAMS because I have yet to figure out exactly where they fit in.

A tentative tree for the James OLIVER who died 14 Feb 1892:

James OLIVER late of Urney, Co. Tyrone Farmer died 14 Feb 1892 at same place proved by John James OLIVER of Creggan Farmer and Matthew NEIL of Sion Mills Presbyterian Minister both in said Co. Executors. Effects £187.
NOTE: In the 1901 Census, there are two unmarried brothers John OLIVER (age 28 b abt 1873) and James OLIVER (age 20 '96 b abt 1881) and their sister Jeannie (age 22 '96 b abt 1879) living at Urney with an unmarried aunt, Margaret, age 65 (b abt 1836). They are all CoI farmers, born in Co. Tyrone.
NOTE : His probate calls him "late of Urney", although his death cert says that he died at Magheracreggan. Urney shares a boundary and is on the western side of Magheracreggan

It is likely that the head of this family was the Thomas OLIVER who died Feb 4, 1875 at Magheracreggan, Co. Tyrone at age 98 (hence b 1777). A William OLIVER of Magheracreggan was present at his death.
