On the 15th inst. After a tedious illness, in her 15th year, Mary Kennedy daughter of Mr. A. Jackson, Ballygraney. BNL Sept 19 1828. Est DOB abt 1814 NOTE: This would be Andrew JACKSON. At present, I am unsure how he fits into the Jacksons of Co. Down – although I do feel sure that he does. In the Freeholders Records, Andrew JACKSON held lands at Ballygrainy for life of William KENNEDY in 1789, as did John JACKSON. I suspect they were brothers. SEE: ROD 506-243-329353. Feb 18, 1797. Btw John JACKSON and Andrew JACKSON both of Ballygraney Farmers Executors and Administrators of the last will and testament of John JACKSON late of Ballygraney deceased of the 1 pt. & William DENNER [?]  of Belfast Co Antrim [Natlemiat?] of the other pt. John JACKSON and Andrew JACKSON did demise for 300 pounds piece of ground on the north side of Castle Street in town of Belfast containing in front next the sd st 54 feet or thereabouts with the entrance or passage leading into Hercules  Lane towards Rosemary Lane 22 feet or thereabouts … subject to yearly rent of 20 pounds 10s 6d.

At Newtownards on the 6th inst, Mrs. Elizabeth JACKSON, relict of the late Gilbert JACKSON of Newtownards at the advanced age of 92 years. BNL Apr 14, 1829 Est DOB: 1737. NOTE: Gilbert JACKSON (?-aft 1800), son of Gilbert JACKSON (bef 1717-aft1740). He was a great-grandson of Gilbert JACKSON and Annas KELL. SEE: Jacksons of Co. Down

On the 21st inst. JOHN JACKSON of Marnamaghrey, aged 63 years. He was a member of the Saintfield yeomanry corps upwards of 20 years, and an Orangeman 30. He suffered much injury by the United Irishmen, who gathered about his house, wanting two guns he had; and when he would not give them up, they put a rope about his neck, and pulled him up a beam till he was nearly dead; but he kept his guns through the whole of the rebellion. His remains were attended to Killinchy graveyard by 17 Lodges of Orangement, and other loyal people, to the number of 1000, who all behaved peaceably. BNL Aug 28, 1829, Est DOB 1766. NOTE: I suspect a transcription or printing error and that Marnamaghrey is actually Barnamaghery, Parish of Killinchy. The townland of Killinchy in the Woods is to the north, and the townland of Raffrey is to the south.

Sarah JACKSON, John FERGUSON,  & Mary FERGUSON otherwise JACKSON his wife Stuart BELL and Susannah BELL otherwise JACKSON his wife which said Sarah and Mary & Susannah are daughters and younger children of Hugh JACKSON of the 4th pr. For consid of 5s transferred 142a of Ballywooly aka Ballywoolie  Barony of Castlereagh, Co Down to  Richard WARING and John BANKHEAD.

In her were happily united the inestimable qualities of an affectionate wife, and indulgent parent, and a kind friend. Those who knew her intimately could only appreciate her worth. BNL Sept 19, 1834. Est DOB: 1778. NOTE: Lisdoonan is a townland on the border of Killinure in the Parish of Saintfield. This was where some of the Quaker JACKSONs held leases.

Est DOB 1792 NOTE: He is buried in the Abbey Graveyard, was a physician in Bangor, and a brother of Jane JACKSON. He is likely a descendant of John JACKSON (1667-1725) of Ballyreagan – two of John JACKSON’s sons were physicians, and we have no record of the descendants of Dr. Thomas JACKSON (1700-1779) of Ballyreagan. His brother, Dr. John JACKSON (1705-1801), emigrated to America. I need to check whether he is a son of William Nicholson JACKSON & June TODD of Ballywooley. NOTE: Ballywooley is in the Townland of Ballykillaire, parish of Bangor.

Also John Gregg JACKSON, grandson of John JACKSON, who died 10th March 1880 aged 3 years and 5 months. Here also lies James JACKSON who died 4th Dec 1883 aged 68 years. Olive Dorothy, daughter of John and Mary JACKSON died 10th Dec. 1920 aged 18 years. John JACKSON died 15th April 1922 aged 76 years.
