In the name of God Amen. I James Jackson[1] and now belonging to his majesties ship Foudroyant being of a sound and disposing mind and memory and considering the dangers of the sea and the uncertainities of this transitory life do for avoiding controvercies after my decease make, publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say. First I recommend my soul to God that gave it and my body to the Earth or Sea as it shall please God to order. And as for all my worldly estate I give, bequeath and dispose thereof as followeth, that is to say. all and singular such salary, ticketts, bounty, money, prize money, wages, sum and sums of money, lands, tenements, goods, chattels and estates whatsoever as shall be anyways due, owing or belonging unto me at the time of my decease I give, devise and bequeath the same unto my loving father Robert Jackson[2] of Grange, Kings County, Ireland. And I do hereby nominate and appoint Archibald Douglas[3] of Plymouth Dock, Executor in trust of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former and other wills, testaments and deeds of gift by me at any time heretofore made. And I do ordain and ratify these presents to stand and be for my only last will and testament. [1] James JACKSON (?- bt 1761-1762) Son of Robert JACKSON Esq. (?-1785) and Eugenia. Since James predeceased his father, he was not named in his father’s will. My assumption is that he died as a bachelor and there was no known issue.

[2] Robert JACKSON (?-1785) of Grange, buried Parish Seirkieran.  NOTE: Grange, Parish of Seirkieran aka Kierans, Barony of Ballybritt, Co. Offaly aka Kings Co.
