JACKSONs in Sligo BMDs
NOTE: Bit by bit, by process of elimination, I am seeing how these JACKSONs fit together. There will be updates. Perhaps others will offer correction.
Family trees connected to JACKSONs of Sligo that I have posted

Wife: Sarah JACKSON
Marriage Date: 18 Mar 1866 Recorded in: Taunagh, Sligo, Ireland
Collection: Roman Catholic
Husband's Father: Timothei MC AVEY
Husband's Mother: Mariae DENNIS
Wife's Father: Gulielmi JACKSON
Wife's Mother: Eleonorae
Source: FHL Film 989737 Dates: 1836 - 1881
[2] Marriage performed by Moffatt JACKSON in presence of James Frazer RYDER and Regia ROYCROFT
[3] Charles JACKSON. Need to look at this:
[4] FAWCETTs of Edenderry, Co. Wicklow may be a connection. A Matthew JACKSON (1805-1877) married a Margaret FAWCETT daughter of Thomas FAWCETT and Sarah NORTH. Bear in mind the NORTH-JACKSON connections of Westmoreland, England..
[5] Thomas JACKSON. NOTE: My guess is that Thomas JACKSON of Gortlownan, Parish Killerry, Barony Tirerrill was a son of George JACKSON (1786-1862)
[6] McKIM connection: PROBATE: George JACKSON late of Collooney Co. Sligo Gentleman, a Bachelor deceased died 30 Sept 1866 at same place Granted to James McKim of Collooney shopkeeper, nephew of said deceased. Effects under £51. I would therefore assume that this George JACKSON was a son of James JACKSON and a brother of Arthur JACKSON.
[7] The Presbyterian Church of Sligo began in abt 1697 and was linked with Killala, Parish Ballysumaghan, Barony Tirerrill, until 1698. One of the early ministers was Luke ASHE (1701-1742), whose sister Sarah ASHE married John JACKSON, one of the Jacksons of Tobermore. Sarah JACKSON née ASHE (1698- btw 1735-47) had 15 children, most of whom are currently unnamed. This is an early tangential link of the families of Tobermore and Coleraine to Sligo. I suspect that its founding went hand-in-hand with mercantile interests. The Sligo Presbyterian Church was later linked with Ballymote [Parish Ballymote, Parish Emlaghfad, Barony Corran,, 1760-1823.. Rev. Moffatt JACKSON served 1855-1860 and was the first of four generations to serve in Sligo.
[8] Moffatt JACKSON: PROBATE: Rev. Moffatt JACKSON late of Sligo Presbyterian Minister died 17 Nov 1887 at same place proved at Principal Registry by Rev William John JACKSON of Belfast Presbyterian Minister. Effects £774.17.6
[9] Sarah JACKSON Her mother was Marie or Maria.
[10] William JACKSON..
[11] Rebecca TROTTER née JACKSON, age 32, died at Tullyskearney Jan 11, 1898 of tubercular kidneys in the presence of her husband Edward TROTTER. Her death was registered at Manorhamilton. She was born Oct 12, 1866, daughter of Thomas JACKSON and Mary CURRICK[?] of Gortlownan, Co. Sligo
[12] A Thomas TROTTER died in 1850. Death registered in Sligo
[13] Thomas JACKSON – his wife was Mary CURRICK.
[14] NOTE: I do not know why this was crossed out in the record. William JACKSON did have a daughter Anne who married a John CASSIDY.
[15] Mary JACKSON. Her husband would likely have been a son of John JACKSON and a brother of Alexander JACKSON (b. 1793). There are likelt more names to add to this family.
[16] Rebecca WALKER née JACKSON, wife of John WALKER and daughter of Alexander JACKSON &
[17] Alexander JACKSON (1817-1892). I am following possible fathers for him. According to his marriage cert, it was a William JACKSON..
[18] John JACKSON. Signing with a mark rather than a signature may or may not have anything to do with literacy.
[19] Castleore, Parish Killerry, Barony Tirerrill. NOTE: In 1825 a John JACKSON and a James JACKSON both held leases there.
[20] M.W. LITTLE is Mathew LITTLE, husband of Sarah JACKSON. I suspect that he was actually a grandson-in-law
[21] M.W. LITTLE is Mathew LITTLE, husband of Sarah JACKSON. I suspect that he was actually a grandson-in-law.
