Indentured Deed 1794 April 13 Joseph OLIVER[1] of
Ballinahonebeg[2], Co.
Armagh Linen Draper of the one part & William CURRY[3] of
Aughaday[4],
Co Tyrone, Merchant of the other part. Upper half townland of Kennedies[5] 97
acres together with one acre of bog in the Townland of Enagh by virtue of a
lease [ ] dated the first day of July 1793 and made by
[ ] and the College and Corporation of Vicars Choral of the
Cathedral Church of St. Patrick Armagh of the one part and the said Joseph
OLIVER then of the Kennedies in the Co of Armagh of the other part. To hold to
the said Joseph OLIVER his execrs, admons and assigns for the term of
twenty-one years from the first day of May then last past subject to the yearly
rent of thirty pounds one shillng ninepence.... Joseph OLIVER did grant bargain
and sell to William CURRY Joseph OLIVER’s right title [ ] and
Estate for the sum of one thousand pounds sterling. Witness Leonard Dobbin[6],

Linen Draper This Joseph OLIVER was probably a son of William OLIVER – probably of Farmacaffley and brother of David,
William, Benjamin & Elizabeth OLIVER. He was born 11 Feb 1726/27 probably at Ballyrea, Co. Armagh and died Bet. 1794 -
1796 in Ballynahonebeg, Co. Armagh. He probably married JANE OATS in 1764, the daughter of THOMAS OATS.

more.
[4] Aughaday, Co Tyrone. I do not know what parish this may be in.
[5] The townland of the Kennedies is on
the northeastern border of Ballynahonebeg and is part of the land now occupied
by the town of Milford. The road to Monaghan runs through it. On its northern
border, is the townland of Tullymore. All these townlands had a significant
number of OLIVER-related leases connected to them and also had connections to
bleachworks and mills (which given the number of OLIVERs who were described as
“drapers” is significant). I am guessing that the 97 acres would be north of
the road to Monaghan.
