OLIVER, Andrew - OLIVER, William
Deed of Settlement 6 April 1840 between Andrew OLIVER[1] of Enagh[2], Co. Armagh Farmer of the first part Mary Jane OLIVER otherwise HAYES[3] wife of the said Andrew OLIVER of the second part. William OLIVER[4] jr of Killynure[5], Co. Armagh farmer, brother of the said Andrew OLIVER & James HAYES[6] of Magherry Kilcranny, Co. Armagh father of the said Mary Jane OLIVER ... the trustees named by Andrew OLIVER and Mary Jane OLIVER £200 to Andrew OLIVER paid by James HAYES..
[1] Andrew
OLIVER of Enagh, Co. Armagh. If my assumptions about his brother William are correct,
then he might be the son of William
OLIVER (d. 1854) and Elizabeth BALLANTYNE of Ennislare.
[2] Enagh. There are several to consider
in Co. Armagh, but the one in the Parish of Lisnadill is the most likely.
[3] Mary Jane OLIVER nèe HAYES
[4] William OLIVER jr. of Killinure is
not the only William OLIVER living at Killinure – just to confuse us. I suspect that this one is the son of William OLIVER (d.
1854) and Elizabeth BALLANTYNE. They were firstly of Ennislare and then of
Killinure. If so, then he would have been born July 27, 1828.
[5] Killynure, Parish of Lisnadill is
the home of my ancestors. It is on the road to Monaghan about 3 miles south
west of Armagh City.
[6] James HAYES shows up as a freeholder
at Maghery in 1832 and in the Voters registration in 1839.
