PRONI Freehold Records for BRADFORD
http://www.proni.gov.uk/freeholders/search.asp
Freeholders' records are lists of people entitled to vote, or of people who
voted, at elections. A freeholder was a man who owned his land outright (in
fee) or who held it by lease which could be for one or more lives (for example,
his own life or for the lives of other people named in the lease). From 1727 to
1793 only Protestants with a freehold worth at least 40 shillings a year were
legally permitted to vote. Between 1793 and 1829 both Protestants and Catholics
with 40 shilling freeholds could vote, but in 1829 the franchise level was increased
to 10 pounds, so 40 shilling freeholders were no longer allowed to vote. This
last measure increased the influence of landlords by effectively confining
membership of Parliament to the propertied or monied classes.

[1] Tullya AKA Tullyah. Parish of Loughilly, Co. Armagh
[2] Thomas BRADFORD (1797-1872) married Margaret WALLACE (1811-1885) and they had nine children. Son of Samuel BRADFORD (1739-1818) & Margaret HENRY. He died at Carnbeg.
[3] Samuel BRADFORD (b. Bet 1795-1805 & d. Aft 1876). Son of Samuel BRADFORD (1739-1818) & Margaret HENRY. In later life he lived at Carnbeg, possibly with his brother Thomas’ family.
[4] NOTE This is the townland more commonly known as “Cavananore”, Parish of Creggan although the Freeholders record has it rendered as “Cavanamore”.
[5] John BRADFORD. He could be a brother of Thomas & Samuel BRADFORD.
[6] Thomas BRADFORD (1797-1872) married Margaret WALLACE (1811-1885) and they had nine children. Son of Samuel BRADFORD (1739-1818) & Margaret HENRY. He died at Carnbeg.
[7] Samuel BRADFORD (b. Bet 1795-1805 & d. Aft 1876). Son of Samuel BRADFORD (1739-1818) & Margaret HENRY. In later life he lived at Carnbeg, possibly with his brother Thomas’ family.
[8] Andrew Coulter BRADFORD (abt 1739-1790). Died unmarried. He was a cousin of Samuel & Thomas BRADFORD.
[9] Mybane AKA Moybane, Parish of Creggan. Interestingly, the 1775 will of Andrew COULTER mentions the land holding of Maubaan. I suspect a connection.
[10] Benjamin BRADFORD. NOTE in a Deed 524-383-343364 dated Oct 1, 1799 there is a mention of: parcel of land on south side of Broad Street, Belfast then called Waring Street & all house to George and Benjamin BRADFORD
[11] Bryandrum, Parish of Mullaghbrack, Co. Armagh. NOTE: A James BRADFORD shows up in the 1663 Hearth Rolls at Drumennis, Parish of Kildarten. Currently, the townland appears to be in the Parish of Mullaghbrack.
[12] Tullyvallen, Parish of Newtownhamilton, CO. Armagh.
[13] Sheeptown – probably the one in the Parish of Newry, Co. Down. NOTE: Rev. James BIRCH of Kinallin, landlord Wm BIRCH was on the same page.
[14] NOTE: William BREAKEY, Dromore, landlord Mr. Nedham was on the same page.
[15] On this page also George BIRCH & John BIRCH of Birchgrove registered freehold at Loughans
[16] On this page also John BIRCH of Linnenhill registered his freehold at Kinatten. 1790
[17] Ringmacelroy AKA Ringmackilroy, Parish of Warrenspoint, Co. Down.
[18] This was rendered as “Cavinose” Co Armagh. I believe it should be “Cavananore”. The writing is a scrawl and looks like “Cavinoer” to me
[19] This was rendered as “Cairnore” Co Armagh. I believe it should be “Cavananore”. The writing is a scrawl and looks like “Cavinoer” to me
