DUBLIN DIRECTORY 1783 - JUDGES AND BARRISTERS AT LAW WITH THE DATES OF THEIR ADMISSION
Trinity. 1781 George Jackson (My notes say “of Cork?”[1].
NOTE: In 2007, I took some very fast notes from an 1800 Dublin Almanac – I should have recorded the details. I suspect that there was more than one George JACKSON practising law in Dublin at the time (how inconvenient is that!).

[1] There was a line of JACKSONs in Cork. Wills were probated for Edward Rowland JACKSON of Castleview (1797), a Margaret JACKSON (1807), a Mary JACKSON (1770) and a Strettle JACKSON of Peterboro (1810). I will be working on the JACKSONs of Cork in the next few months. This line is of interest because after Margaret JACKSON nče BRADFORD (1739-1820) threw a bunch of family deeds in the fire in outrage over her husband David JACKSON’s (1755-1796 – a brother of George JACKSON) obsession over lost lands, a “man from Cork” showed up with the other half of the deeds that would have bolstered their case. I intend to follow closely the Quaker line of JACKSONs of Youghall, Co. Cork. I suspect that out of all the lines, they are mostl ikely to be connected to our line.
