D/462/117 - Lease between John PRINGLE of Caledon in the County of Tyrone, Esq of the one part & Benjamin OLIVER of Enislare in the County of Armagh, Farmer of the other part [land rented to OLIVER] Killinure estimated 58 acres 5 perches English measure ... bounded on the East by Robert McCadams Farm and partly by a stream or rivulet on the West by William Carson’s farm on the North by the lands of Maghery and on the South by the road leading to Monaghan .... a 20 year lease with a clause for renewal “Excepting and reserving out of this demise as by the ground lease under which the said John PRINGLE holds the premises and other lands under the Vicars Choral and Organist of St. Patrick’s Cathedral is excepted and reserved” [other exemptions seem to limit the use to farming] also OLIVER “will grind all such Corn and Grain as shall grow or be used or consumed on the ... premises at the mill of Lisbanoe [Co. Armagh]” and “and there pay the Sixteenth Grain as Toll or Mulcture for grinding” or forfeit 6 Shillings Sterl for each and every barrell of Corn or Grain that shall be ground elsewhere. [I drew a copy of the map on page 113 of my March 2006 diary] A map of that part of Killinure and Enagh demised by John PRINGLE Esq.to Benjamin OLIVER Farmer in the year 1807.

Indenture made on the Seventh Day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety five BETWEEN William OLIVER Joseph OLIVER and Benjamin OLIVER of Ballyrea in the County of Armagh Farmers of the One Part and Thomas Crawford of Cherry Vale in the County of Monaghan Linen Draper of the other part, WITNESSETH that the said William OLIVER, Joseph OLIVER and Benjamin OLIVER for and in consideration of the yearly Rent and Covenants herein reserved, Have and each one of them hath, demited, granted, set and the Farm let; and by these presents do each of them doth demise grant, set and to farm let unto the said Thomas Crawford - ALL the Part Parcel and Proportion of the Towns on the Lands of Laragh and Cornacarra containing five acres and a half Irish Plantation Measure be the same more or less lying adjacent  and contiguous to the North East of a line or Mearing lately laid off by Joseph Fleming Land Surveyor and by him intended to distinguish and divide  the Farm of Land now in possession of George Crawford of Cherry Vale in the County of Monaghan Gent from another farm belonging to William OLIVER Joseph OLIVER and Benjamin OLIVER Parties to the said Presents whereof the demised premises are Part  which said lands and premises are situate lying  and being in the Barony of Cremore and County of Monaghan and are now in the actual possession of  the said Thomas Crawford by Virtue of a Bargain and Sale to him thereof made by the said William OLIVER, Joseph OLIVER and Benjamin OLIVER for the term of one whole year by indenture of Lease bearing  Date the day next before the Day of the Dale  of these presents in Consideration of Five Shillings Sterling and by Force of the Statute for transferring uses into Possession - Saving and Reserving out of this Demise a Road or Passage as now laid out through the Premises to and from the Corn Mill of Loughegish for the Tenants or Occupiers of the Lands of Carnacarra with full and free Ingress Egress and Regress through the said Demised Premises to the Mill Trespass free -  [more legal stuff I didn’t type] YIELDING AND PAYING therefore and thereout yearly and every year during the said Term unto the said William OLIVER Joseph OLIVER Benjamin OLIVER their heirs and assigns the Yearly Rent of Six Pounds five Shillings and three halfPence Sterling to be paid by two equal payments on every first day of May and first day of November in every year during the said term. February 1770 - Between James Dilworth of Mullaghrivey in the County of Tyrone of the first part. John Moorhead of Smithsborough in the County of Monaghan Gentleman and Sarah Dilworth otherwise Moorhead his wife of the second part and William OLIVER of the City of Dublin Gentleman of the third part. Whereas a marriage has been solemnized between the said John Moorhead and Sarah Dilworth otherwise Moorhead, and whereas the said James Dilworth is possessed of the said Town and lands of Mullaghuvey by virtue of a Deed Rebewable for ever under the Arch Bishop of Armagh and whereas the said James Dilworth by Indenture of Lease bearing date the seventeenth day of October one thousand seven hundred and seventy for the consideration therein mentioned did Demise unto Owen Woods & Patrick Woods all that farmland and parcel of lands  then in possession of the said Owen & Patrick Woods Containing by Estimation Twenty-One acres English Measure together with that proportion of Turbery or Turf Bog then in their possession with the houses and edifices Erected thereon which Lands & premises are a part of the said Towns and Lands of Mullaghuvey to hold unto them their Execs Admons & Assigns from the first day of November then next for the term of Sixteen years. And whereas the said James Dilworth for the natural love and Affection that he beareth for his Daughter and Son-in-Law the said John Moorhead doth by these presents for him his heirs Execs Admones & Assigns, Assign Transfer & make over unto the said William OLIVER his heirs and assigns all & Singular the herein before mentioned Twenty Acres of Lands with the Appurtenances together with the said Original Lease and all the rents and profits arising there out during the existence of said Lease and from and after the Determination of said Lease to Hold unto the said William this assigns for Administering(?) the Existence of the Original Deeds of said Town Lands of Mullaghavey & every renewal or Renewals that shall be obtained thereout to hold unto him or them from the first day of May next at and under the yearly rent of Five pounds as Said to be paid unto the said James Dilworth his Exors, Admrs or Assigns and in case of nonpayment there of that he and they may destraint & dispose thereof in such cases as usual between Landlord and Tenant .
