Lease dated November 1, 1749

Deed Poll or Agreement in Writing

Worded as follows:

Whereas Hugh Niveedy[1] then of Knocknagony[2], County Down, Farmer, and by Literature of Lease dated 1 Nov 1749 demised to William Jackson[3] and John Jackson[4] both of Ringcreevy[5], County Down, Farmers, farm land in Hugh Niveedy’s possession in the Townland of Knocknagony for lives in said Indenture of Lease with a Covenant for renewal forever at the yearly rent of 24 pounds sterling and 6 pence … and whereas William Jackson is seized of and possessed of 36 acres of land by the division being made between William Jackson and John Jackson … said William Jackson in consideration of 5 shillings sterling in hand paid by Robert Jackson[6], My Son in Knocknagony … I hereby discharge said Robert Jackson for natural love and affection to my son, I make over to my son Robert Jackson the orchard and half the 36 acres.
