Tullymore, Parish of Armagh, Co. Armagh OLIVERs

NOTE: Much of the material for this tree comes from records held at the Cardinal Tomás ó Fiaich Memorial Library and Archive, and was accessed thanks to the help of Kiernan McConville in 2006. As far back as John OLIVER (1841-1909), the family were known to be Catholic. Given the long time Protestant roots of OLIVERs in this region, I would assume that some previous generation of his was Protestant, likely Presbyterian. I have only footnoted a few of the names, and hope to do more as I learn more.

[1] John OLIVER. Maria Beattie’s research indicates John Oliver, husband of Mgt Rocks died on 17 Dec 1909, and was therefore born in 1839 and not 1841.  Witnesses at the marriage were Witnesses were Bernard McCornmick and Margaret Loughran.

[2] James OLIVER. One of his sponsors was Simon ROCKS, likely a relation given the full name of his brother, Simon Francis OLIVER.

[3] John OLIVER. NOTE: This relationship is a guess of based on geographical proximity. Needs more documentation

[4] Patrick OLIVER.

[5] Sarah DONNELLY. Putting her here is a hunch based on date of marriage, address of Patrick and name of Patrick's father. She was from Tullynickle, Parish of Eglish, Co. Armagh

[6] Simon Francis OLIVER. His son, James gave me much of this information, corrorated by records at Cardinal Tomás ó Fiaich Memorial Library and Archive and information from James’ daughter-in-law, Maureen OLIVER.

[7] James OLIVER. He was 90 years old when I spoke with him in 2006. I have a photo of him & his wife. A lovely couple.

[8] James OLIVER. NOTE. Placing him in this family is a long shot - I have him here because of a mention of a daughter Martha born at Navan in a time frame that matches.
