Dublin, Esq. d 20 Sept 1867 at same place granted to Joshua Joseph JACKSON of No 7 College Green, Dublin Esq. for the benefit of the minor children of said deceased. NOTE: I wonder if Strettle JACKSON (1755-1807) had a son Strettle JACKSON who is the father of this Joseph Devonsher JACKSON. The Joseph Devonsher JACKSON of this probate is not to be confused with: Joseph Devonshire JACKSON, late of Sutton House… d 20 Dec 1857. This one was a son of Strettel JACKSON of Co. Adm. at Trinity College, Dublin, July 7, 1800, age 17; B.A. (Dublin) 1806; M.A. (Dublin) 1832. Adm. at the Middle Temple, Nov. 10, 1804. Called to the Irish Bar, 1806; Sergeant-at-Law. Probate February 15, 1912 of the Rev. Edwin Sandys JACKSON late of the Salt Hill Hotel Monkstown, Co. Dublin Clerk who died September 17, 1911 at Youghall, Co. Cork granted at Dublin to Basil ORPIN, Esq., and Cecil ORPIN M.D. Effects £17,718 7s 6d. NOTE: In the 1911 England Census, he is described as a clerk in Italy (?document not clear) order, established Church. He is staying with his sisters-in-laws Fanny FLETCHER (single – age 60) and Mary FLETCHER (widowed – age 62), as well as Agnes JACKSON (age 64), a sister of the two FLETCHERs. The three women lived on private means. They were all born in Cheshire. Edwin Sandys JACKSON (age 59) was born in Derryheen, Co. Cavan and had been married 10 years, although there are red question marks on the document questioning the marital status of both Agnes and Edwin. Clearly one of them was married, but likely not both. In the 1891 England Census, he was age 39 and living at the Vicarage in Great Sankey, St. Mary, Lancashire, and was a clerk in Holy Orders. It is unclear, but it seems he was widowed. See probates above for James M’Creight JACKSON and Maria JACKSON. In the England probate records, he had effects in England of £12, 741 8s 4d. |
