+ (  ) Jackson, esq. of the county of Meath

MY NOTES:

Of special interest here is the fact that the mother of Arthur BULKELEY was Sarah MAINWARING, daughter of Edward MAINWARING of Whitmore, Staffordshire, and his wife, Sarah STONE. Sarah MAINWARING married John BULKELEY on June 30, 1619. This is of interest because a Sir George MAINWARING of Ight-feilde, Co. Shropshire was the lessor of 2,000 acres of land in Lisreagh in Co. Cavan (which borders Co. Meath). He took over title on March 14, 1613. Sir George MAINWARING sublet on August 20, 1616 to Thomas JACKSON the poll of Agharaugh, and two acres of Gortnecoshe for a term of 41 years. On the same day, he also let to Bartholemew JACKSON a pole called Pollybrally for 41 years. The fact of two brothers signing a lease on the same day indicates the likelihood that they are close relations. I muse about this in a blog post about the Jacksons of Cavan.

The two MAINWARINGs – Sir George and Sarah - are very distant cousins, but in the same generation. SEE: Mainwaring ancestry.
