NOTE: In the Down Survey, Lt. Col. William PUREFOY held 5 leases to lands in Kings Co. in 1670: Clonbullogue; Ballinowlart; Clonmel; Cloncant aka Clonebolge & Cloonemore; Ballydermot. All had been held previously by Thomas FITZGARRETT, the Catholic landowner in 1641. Captain Peter PUREFOY held 9 townlands which were grouped in two clusters. The northerly cluster had been held by Nicholas SANKEY and then by PUREFOY. The southern cluster by Charles CONNOR in 1641 and then by PUREFOY in joint ownership with Lord John KINGSTON & Ralph ROCKFORD. Thomas FITZGARRETT was the same Catholic landlord whose adjacent townland of Clonad was granted to Francis JACKSON. William PUREFOY (1584-1659) had a stepson George ABBOTT, but no surviving children of his own. His lands went to his nephew William PUREFOY. SOURCE: History of Parliament on Line. SEE also: Col. NOTE: I suspect that this widow Elizabeth PUREFOY was the wife of Gamaliel PUREFOY (1659-1707). Records from Alumni Dublinenses - 1924 Edition show him to be a son of a William PUREFOY. Gamaliel was also a brother of Arthur PUREFOY, William PUREFOY (wife Martha DELAWN) of Purefoy Place Rathganon Kings Co., Peter PUREFOY and Basil PUREFOY. The brothers received grants of lands in other counties.

Adam Blair M.A. 1718-1790 (National Library of Ireland GO Ms 544): "Adamus Blair, Hib. fillies Adami" - University of Glasgow records. Studied for the Presbyterian ministry in the Presbytery of Route, but was unwilling to subscribe to the Westminster Confession. Licensed by the Presbytery of Antrim in February 1739/40 and ordained minister in March 1744/5 at Moyra. From July 1751 lived at Leap, King's Co., at the farm previously occupied by Stephen Allen, and from around 1760 at the property in the interest of James Ashton. Brought his sons to be educated in Glasgow in 1771 and visited them in January 1774. In reference to his second wife, "my inconsiderate wife, having in vain struggled for the sole dominion over me, my children & fortune for upwards of five years, left me in Oct. '75, having tried every method to obtain her base ends, that malice or ill nature & the most dreadful temper could invent, & thank God, I have had unspeakably more real peace & comfort since she left me, except what I felt from what she said published & did against me, than I enjoyed from the time of our unhappy union." A deed of separation was made on 12 April 1777. On 1 May 1788 gave up the farm and moved to Lisburn to lodge with Joseph Chapman, his son-in-law.

James JACKSON of Birr [aka Parsonstown now in Townparks, Parish Birr, Barony of Ballybritt],  & John DROUGHT of Whigsborough all in Kings Co trustees named  in the settlement of the sd Robert JACKSON and Wm FAIRBROTHER of Willsborough in Co Wicklow Esq. and George CARROLL of City of Dublin Esq . Reciting that Alexander CARROLL late of the City of Dublin Esq Deceased before his death on 9 May 1768 made his last will reciting that he had by his marriage settlement a power to charge his estate in his settlement with a sum of 3,000 and 1,000 pound as a provision for his younger children to be distributed to his daughters and amongst the rest to Mary CARROLL his daughter the sum of 600 pounds and to his other daughters the real sums as in his said will. Alex CARROLL did his will devise  to daughter Mary an additional sum of 1,200 pounds and the sd deed of which this is a memorial recited that t the time of the deed Mary CARROLL intermarried with Robert JACKSON by and with consent of William FAIRBROTHER, the only surviving  Guardian of the children of Alexander CARROLL.
