bearing date the twenty fourth day of November in year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and ninety five Between Benjamin KIDD of Keady and
Ballymorran Gent. Of the one part and Wm OLIVER jun of Ennislare in the
Parish and County of Armagh Linen Draper of the other part. Wherin it is
recited that that whereas Wm Johnston of the City and County of Armagh Gent
did by indenture of lease bearing date the sixth day of October 1795 Demise
unto said Benjamin KIDD all that and those that front Dwelling House Offices
Yard and Garden lying and being on the south side of Thomas Street in the
said City of Armagh bounded on the South by the holding of Arthur Irwin on
the north by the holding of Catherine Graham and James and William Barnes(?)
on the east by (?) Murphy holding and on the west by Thomas Street aforesaid
with full and free liberty of [legal language] at all times during this

A Memorial of a Deed of a
Lease bearing date the first day of August 1800 made between Thomas BALL of
Cullihanna in the County of Armagh Esq. Of the one part and John JACKSON of
Liscolgat in the Said County of Armagh farmer of the other part. Whereby the
said Thomas BALL for the Consideration therein mentioned did Demise Grant Set
and to [farm?] Let Release and Confirm Unto the Said John JACKSON (then being
by virtue of a Lease for a year as therein mentioned & to his assigns all
that and there that part of the Lands of Urker known by the name of the
Charter Lands then in the possession of the said John JACKSON Containing by
estimation 29 acres, two roods or thereabouts be the same more or less which
is [_arly] described in a map or [__rchart] there of thereunto annexed
situate lying and being in the Parish of Creggan Barony of Upper Fews and
County of Armagh Excepting and Reserving out of Said demise unto the said
Thomas BALL his heirs and assigns as therin is Excepted and Reserved to hold
said Demised premises with the appurts unto the said John JACKSON his heirs
Exors Admons and Assigns for and during the natural life and lives of the
said John JACKSON the lessee then aged about nineteen, Margaret and Barbara
JACKSON twins sisters of the said John JACKSON both aged seventeen years
thereabouts & the [?____?____] of them as for and during the term of
twenty four years to be computed from the 21st day of November
then last which ever of said term for lives or years should last the longest
at and under the yearly rent of [pounds] 34..16..7p in which said lease is
contd sevl clauses & covts in the said John JACKSON his heirs, Exors,
Admins, & Assigns to be done & performed & in case the said John
JACKSON his heir Exors, Admins & Assigns shall perform & fulfill said
Covenants and Clauses then said yearly rent of [pounds] 34.16.7 should be
reduced to [pounds] 32.9.4 and no more which said deed was duly executed
[?/?] therto in presence of and witnessed by Saml BALL of Urker in the County
of Armagh Esq. & Patrick KANE of Coolderry in Said County and [?] this
Memorial was also duly Exed by the said John JACKSON in presence of the said
Patrick KANE & George JACKSON of the City of Dublin Attourney at Law,
John JACKSON [SEAL] Signed Sealed and Delivered in presence of Patrick KANE
came this day before me & made oath & saith he is [?] Witness to
& saw the Original Deed of which the above writing is Memorialized duly.

Whereby after recits as therein it is receipted that a marriage is to be had
and solemnized between the said Samuel Elgee And Anne OLIVER sister of the

Umgola and Benjamin KIDD of Ballynahone reciting a deed made 20 July 1804
between Jane HAMILTON [NOTE: Just before her marriage to Joseph OLIVER] of
Tullamore, spinster & sd. John SCOTT and confirming a power or permission
thereunto change the course? [? Of ?] of the tailrace of Ballynahone Mill with
the river Callan to transferring and assigning said premises to Benjamin KIDD
with liberty to carry the same in to the head race of Umgola Mill and also
ratifying on the part of said Benjamin KIDD a permission Grant in 3rd [?] by
said John SCOTT to said Jane HAMILTON [?] to conduct the rivulet flowing from
Ballyrath bog through the lands of Tullamore & to convey same into the
Callan River below the weir of Umgola Mill without damage to said weir &
also ratifying the power of said Jane HAMILTON her exons and admons or
assigns to right of passage through the lands of Umgola to the lands of
Tullamore by a road lately laid out and generally ratifying and mutually
confirming for the consideration of [?] to the parties respectively paid …
