The JACKSONs of Newtownlimavady are of interest when it comes to verifying the ancestry of President Andrew JACKSON. Bob Forrest kindly transcribed all the JACKSONs he could find of the Roe Valley. So far, we can find no link to President Andrew JACKSON. This does not mean that there may not be a credible link, but so far it is elusive. Perhaps others can build on our work.

Bob Forrest email January 19, 2019. Despite all the research you and I have conducted into Jacksons there has been no proven link to Limavady. Below are all the Jacksons in the Roe valley I have extracted -- please feel free to use if you wish!

JACKSONs of Roe Valley

I have shaded in the parishes where JACKSONs can be found in the Roe Valley. I used the Map of the Baronies and Civil Parishes of Co. Londonderry done by Bill Macafee.
NOTE: Newtownlimavady is midway between Coleraine and Londonderry, two other places where there were also significant numbers of JACKSON land holdings in the 1600s.
There was also another JACKSON family in the Barony of Loughinsholin to the south.
It is too early to say how or even if these clusters of JACKSONs are related.
