Isn't he a grand horse? Having the Derby 1946, St. Leger Coronations stakes etc. to his credit. He now stands, a stallion, at Newmarket where I have just been down painting his portrait for Capt. Boyd Rochfort who had him -
We are all "going strong" & wish you and your little family a very happy Xmas & success in 1950,

“Big Game” Kings Stallion loaned for years to the British National Stud at Gillingham Dorset & the original oil painting from which this photo was taken was a commission from Peter Burrell superintendant of the stud. It hangs at his home, Sandley. A son (yearling) of Big Game was sold recently at Newmarket topping the list at £1800.

Photo from oil painting recently done of Old Hunter 22 years old. Once entered for the Derby & still going strong. With 'friend' small hunt terrier.

Preliminary sketch the Pastel for oil painting which David is giving Welsh Guards on leaving the Regt. Klaxton & am engaged now painting of him [illegible] "Klaxton" Green Cottage face with Newmarket place in background.
