The purpose of creating this
page was to help me to focus on several CROZIER family and business connections,
in particular any connections with the JACKSONs of Co. Down & Monaghan and the HYDEs
of Dublin and Tyrone. NOTE: The mysteries in the 1860
March 15 Mary JACKSON of Rockmount Probate had been my initial trigger.
As a result of what I have been
able to learn from all these memorials of deeds, as well as the research of
many others, I now have made sense
of Charlotte CROZIER’s place in the family tree, but I have ended up none the
wiser about how Charlotte CROZIER might be a “cousin” of Mary
JACKSON as described in Mary JACKSON’s will.
NOTE: My transcriptions of these memorials are not verbatim. Many of them started with AI
versions, and had all the usual AI glitches. I have cleaned them up to the
best of my ability and have added hyperlinks to the townland
names. Dates and money amounts have been rendered in numerals rather than in
their usual format – which was usually in words. These kinds of changes makes them
easier to find in digital searches.
NOTE: All these transcriptions will soon be uploaded into
my Links
to tables of Deeds Research, although most will be in a more abbreviated form.

NOTE: This memorial is the earliest
one that I have found which includes the same cluster of Tyrone leases which often
show up in future leases involving CROZIERs .
NOTE: A Rev William JACKSON
(d 1735/6) was Prebendary of St. John’s Dublin. Wife Ellen
JACKSON Cousin William MORETON. His son Rev. William JACKSON
(1713-1767) was of Rocksavage Co. Cork. SEE: Jacksons
of St. Michans for links.
NOTE: The widow Esther
RUSSELL aka Hester subsequently married Thomas KINGSBURY (1688-1747)
NOTE: The CROZIER
connection is that Margaret CROZIER (abt 1800-1843), daughter of George
CROZIER (1755-1831) and Jane Elliot GRAHAM (1760-1838), married Charles MAGEE
(1794-1881) great-grandson of John HYDE and Sarah RAY aka RAE (1700-1750).
The HYDE family had connections to leases with both Esther RUSSELL aka Hester
RUSSELL and with the KINGSBURYs. These links
still need more work. The ROE connection is also of interest given a later
marriage of Edward ROE with Martha CROZIER, daughter of Dr. Samuel CROZIER. |
