Page in progress
This page will in time tell the known (to me) history of the MENARY family as it relates to the tale of the Silver Bowl - hence the part of the MENARY family tree that intermarries with JACKSONs or OLIVERs or CALVERTs.
Included will be links to the MENARY documents that appear on this site.

As always, please let me know if you spot any errors or omissions (see link top right of page to email me).

1875 Legal case re: Maghery-Kilcrany It seems that a clerical error left the infant Mary MENARY unprotected with respect to a specific property right after her father, William MENARY, died intestate. Why her grandfather David JACKSON and her maternal uncle Andrew Coulter Bradford JACKSON as well as her paternal uncle Samuel MENARY would join in the suit against her, is not at all clear. The other part, FERRIS, seems to have had some debts owed to him by William MENARY jr. (deceased father of Mary MENARY). The case was won by Mary MENARY's mother on her behalf. A related case can be found at Killynure Case COUSER vs OLIVER . Obviously, William MENARY created confusion by dying intestate. One might guess that his death was unanticipated.

MENARY Family Tree This is my most recent stab at making this tree as accurate as I am able to. That being said, I would suspect there may still be errors - although I have done my best to itemize sources where I have them. I look forward to comment. I look forward to the future when other MENARY trees will find where they fit into this one - especially the Orangeville, Ontario "cousins". August 2, 2005
